Eat your veggies!

Kale: "Mom how old are you"
Me: "37"
Kale How old is dad?"
Me: "Um I think 33"
Kale: "Dude you are older."
Me: "Um, yeah"
Kale: "hey wait...that doesn't make sense...you are way shorter. Oh I know! You totally didn't eat your veggies when you were a kid, huh? You should start now so you can start growing again..."
Me: "Yeah I wish..."

I so love you Kale! You are the greatest joy in my life. When I am exhausted and think that I am way to tired to even think about smiling, you make me laugh until my sides hurt!

British Legos

Listening to my son play with his Legos while using his best British "Dr. Who" accent makes me totally giggle!

Storytime

There is nothing more I love more than listening to my Kale talk. His little brain seems to form thoughts and ideas so fast that his little lips just can't keep up. Every night before bed we have a routine...Get our jammies on, have a snack, brush our teeth while singing Raffi's brush your teeth song, get on our knees and pray, then get into bed to read scriptures. After scriptures is my favorite time. It is when we just talk. Talk about our day, talk about...well Legos mostly...and then tell stories :)  Tonight Kale told me the story of how we got to go to Ana and RJ's house to make little bread snakes. He recited the entire day verbatim not missing a detail. Then he snuggled with our little Koshka (kitten) and let me pat is back for one lullaby song.

There is nothing in this world that makes me happier than these moments with my Kale. I am sometimes overwhelmed by how much I love him, and how much I love my Matthew for giving him to me.

Boo-Boos

Poor Little Kale! You were at the park with your favorite Soso yesterday.   You were playing so well with this little boy named Michael; running, jumping and laughing.   I guess you were trying to jump down the bleachers too quickly and you fell.  Everyone ran to see if you were ok and there you were all brave saying, "oh I am ok," but you had HUGE scrapes on your little face.  Rosie said you were fine and brave all the way to the restroom, but when you took one look in the mirror and you saw the blood you freaked out.   Little Michael kept saying, "It's ok friend you will be ok." lol. Rosie said you were upset for a whole two minutes and then you and Michael were off playing again!

MasterCard and the Planets....

I feel like a MasterCard commercial… I just bought Kale a LeapPad for homeschooling. He wanted no part of me “teaching” him and just played and played for about 30 minutes before he looked up and said…

“Hey Mom! Did you know Wall-e finds planets and Saturn has big rings on it?”
“Wow Kale! You are right; Saturn does have rings around it.”
“Hey Mom! Did you know that we live on this one? We are number 3.”
“Yes Kale, we are on the Earth, the third planet from the sun; you are right!”
“Hey Mom! Know what? I think that our Wall-e planet is bigger than on my pad¸ cuz we would be squished.”
“Hey Kale! Know what? That is a great thinking; you are so brilliant.”
“Yeah I know I am…thanks for my little computer, I love you.”
Hours and hours of looking in dozens of stores and fighting people on Ebay to get a LeapPad $100.00 (and a brain tumor)…. Disney Wall-e game for LeapPad $15.00…watching my little son’s brain work…PRICELESS….

Irritated...

Every time I tell Kale to do something that he does not want to hear he keeps saying, "Stop talking I am feeling Ear-A-Tired". I had no idea what he was saying until Matt yesterday said, "ugg I am so irritated!" Kale then said, "yeah I am Ear-A-Tired too" hahahah! I LOVE how his little mind takes something he hears and has it make sense in his little mind!
